Neonatal sleep: Depending on the age of your baby, the usual pattern of sleep is for 1-3 hours then feed, bathroom and then back to bed. This is a cycle and pattern throughout the day and rarely will a neonate sleep through the night. As they get older the pattern changes and they may have longer periods of wakefulness and may even sleep for stretches at night but not usually longer than 6-7 hours but changes.
