A member asked:

Is it okay to do side planks and my teacher said use are elbows to hold out weight?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes, it is Okay to do side planks where your weight is supported by your one forearm and the foot on the same side. And are you asking whether it is Okay to hold a weight in the other arm held out? You can, it is just difficult and more of a workout. Side planks workout different muscles than traditional planks.
