A member asked:

Could abnormal ekg need to be seen by a cardiologist?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Possibly: Most ekg's are 'abnormal' because the computers that read the ekg are very sensitive and call most minor and insignificant things 'abnormal'. Board certified emergency doctors should be experienced enough with reading ekg's to know if it is serious or not. If you are not having any palpitations, chest pain or trouble breathing, it is probably not necessarry to have a cardiologist look at it.
