MH affected: Thre has been an association of mental illness with poverty, single parent homes and with living in poor neighborhoods. Poor neigborhoods are more likely to have adults & othes that may have a negative influence on others. Living in these poor areas texposes residents to substance abuse, violence, & crime. These factors affect the mental health of children, teens & others living in there.
