Being bored does not: Help you feel good about yourself and your life, therefore, it is not good for your mental health. Sometimes boredom is a symptom of depression. If you are bored, do something about it. Take up a new hobby, take a class, make new friends, volunteer. Figure out what makes you happy and do it. If you still feel bored, see if you are actually depressed and consider speaking to a therapist.

Boredom also breeds : . . . Contempt. Very important to occupy your mind and get involved in pleasant activities that you are passionate about. Journal or document your involvement for purpose of tracking your progress. Don't be afraid to self-correct and remain calm when others provide feedback.

Depression?: Boredom can either be a symptom of depression or sometimes attention deficit disorder with hyperactivity, but often leads to difficulties with depression. It certainly is not a good frame of mind to be in. It is interesting that it is a combined perception of internal and external reality. It can be the result of excessive understimulation or excessive overstimulation eg porn causing underarousal.
