Nickel very common: An allergist or dermatologist can usually determine if you are having a contact reaction to components of faux jewelry by history. It can usually be confirmed by "patch testing" to specific "contactants" that are found in jewelry. Patches are worn for 48 hours and "read" after removal at 48-96 hours. The reaction is similar to that of poison ivy contact but limited to size of the patch.
