Allergy testing: Allergy symptoms can be mediated by immune cells or allergy antibodies. The later can be tested by doing skin test or blood test to that allergens. Blood test detects the allergic antibodies or specific ige to an allergen. Skin test detects immediate reaction or type 1 sensitivities to a particular allergen and is thought to be more sensitive. Patch test is used for testing cell mediated allergies.
