Like head and toe: Hiatal hernia is internal hernia there is opening in the diaphragm that separate the chest from abdomen called hiatus if it become too large the stomach will slide up and caused reflux of acid inguinal hernia is a weakness in the groin that could become large enough to accommodate intestine large or small in it could be dangerous that why it needs surgery hiatal hernia could be treated medically.

Location: A hiatal hernia occurs in the diaphragm, so that abdominal organs end up in the chest (usually just part of the stomach). An inguinal hernia occurs in the groin. The treatments are different, although both can be approached without a long traditional incision (laparoscopic surgery).
