Yes: Yes, it can have an effect on your circadian rhythm. Obviously the more you smoke and the larger the quantity, the more the effect. Some studies showed that it reduced REM sleep which is the deepest stage of sleep. It's the most restorative and refreshing stage and the only time you dream.
