A member asked:

Why is number of rbcs higher in females than in males?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

It's really not: Usually men have slightly higher average hemoglobins, hematocrits, and RBC's. Testosterone enhances erythropoiesis some, and I suspect this was designed because men are more likely to need bursts of speed (the slowest man is the one eaten by the bear).
