Arthritis: It sounds like you could be developing arthritis. Arthritis typically causes swelling and stiffness usually worse in the morning. it could be benign mechanical osteoarthritis or more severe, crippling rheumatoid arthritis. another cause unrelated to joint s would just be fluid retention. If having joint pain and stiffness I would recommend seeing a physician.
