A member asked:

Help please! when preparing a class iii and v cavity on a tooth, can you isolate the tooth with a rubber dam sheet?

Yes: This can be done, although most dentists do not routinely use a rubber dam for restorative treatment. In some cases it would be more problematic to try to use a rubber dam for a class v cavity than not.

Always recommended: For class III or class V restorations the teeth to be restored need to be isolated for better results.
