Fed vs state program: Must be some glitch that's showing you as from SLC, UT. Anyway, regardless of state, Medicare is federal program that offers healthcare to elderly (older than 65yo) & disabled (regardless of age). OTOH, Medicaid is state program that offers healthcare to indigent below state-specific guidelines.
