Benzodiazapines: May not be required for treatment of social anxiety disorder. Would recommend use of selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors before consideration of a benzo. But, most importantly is use of therapy to deal with the underlying issue. Cognitive behavioral therapy would be an excellent choice.
