Breakthrough bleed: Breakthrough spotting or bleed is common for the first few packs of oral contraceptive use when trying to use them in a continuous fashion. It is important to take the pill at the same time daily ; to be sure that any other medications are not interacting with the pill. After a few pill packs, with compliant use, the breakthrough spotting or bleeding should improve or resolve.
