Why does big baby have higher risk of birth trauma ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Large babies: A large baby has a higher risk of birth trauma because the shoulders may be too large to easily be delivered. The condition is called a shoulder dystocia and it isn't easy to predict. If the shoulders get stuck, the baby needs to be turned in the birth canal or have its arm delivered in a special way.
