Blood and skin tests: These may be subcutaneous abscesses ( boils) and require culturing and blood testing. You should also be screened for diabetes if these symptoms persist. A strong topical antibiotic such as Altabax (retapamulin) or Clindamycin may be prescribed. See a dermatologist.
