It's possible for : Stimulants to precipitate a true manic episode in a person with a pre-existing mood disorder (bipolar disorder), though it's not as common as with ssri's (zoloft, paxil). Stop the ritalin (methylphenidate). Any side effect of a stimulant should be gone 24 hours after the last dose. Please call your psychiatrist now for both immediate help ; non-stimulant options for your adhd.
