A member asked:

Do i need to go to an endocrinologist to be diagnosed with metabolic syndrome or can my primary care doctor do it?

Primary doc: Pcm should be able to do this. "diagnosing" this is straightforward, but of limited utility since there is no specific treatment for the "syndrome." treatment is targeted at the individual components of the syndrome obesity, hypertension, elevated trig ( and low hdl) and elevated fasting blood glucose.
