A member asked:

Cervical foraminotomy vs acdf. which is preferred in c5~6 hnp w rad. in 28yr old pt? is minimally invasive technique always good?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Herniated disc: A herniated cervical disc can be treated with surgery if all the nonoperative options have been exhausted or if there is a significant weakness associated with the herniated disc. The approach can be from the back (foraminotomy) or the front (acdf) of the neck. An emerging option is an artificial disc and particularly at your age, this may be an excellent option. See your neurosurgeon.
