Yes: Hallux rigidus or early arthritis of the first metatarsal/phalangeal joint ( of the big toe)is common in athletes . Running and jumping sports can exacerbate the pain. Dorsiflexion( moving the big toe back) is usually limited compared to normal side.Nsaids, turf toe 'liners' are the basic non- operative tx.Cheilectomy( surg.Removal of dorsal 'spurs')can be done...Ok to ride ex.
