Drooling may be : Atypical after 18 mos. If feeding problems ; speech (articulation) errors that are not typical for age co-exist. Low oral-motor tone with persistent open-mouth posture, lack of rotary chewing with closed mouth ; lack of lip-closure in drinking from an open-mouthed cup warrant a diagnostic neurodevelopmental assessment ; referral to early intervention for evaluation ; ot + speech/language therapy.
