A member asked:

My pain and symptoms feel as if i'm having something with my pancreas will it always show up in blood work if there is an infection?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Diagnosis: Pancreatic infections will often produce elevations in enzymes suggesting pancreatic inflammation, but this is not a means by which to diagnose diseases. You would need to provide a physician with a full history, allow a physical exam and probably undergo lab testing along with imaging studies and instrumentation in order to come to any meaningful conclusions. Don't try to do this yourself.
