A member asked:

Ultrasound shows i have an ovarian cyst, 5cm, a thick septation, small amount of cul-de-sac fluid, tumor, infection. is this ok? wanna avoid surgery.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

As long: As there are no findings worrisome for ovarian cancer it is reasonable to follow this cyst with an ultrasound in 3 months. Cancers tend to have soft tissue parts in addition to the cystic areas. They may also have increased blood flow compared to cysts. Best to discuss this with your doctor.
