Not really: A hernia in your umbilical area (belly button) would not cause bad breath. Bad breath, in the majority of cases, originates from the oral cavity.

Irrelevant: There is no connection between bad breath and hernia. Halitosis, bad breath is caused by poor dental health, tooth decay and may be a sign of other health problems. Also the type of food you eat or other factors like smoking can effect your breath. Rec.: see a dentist to determine the cause of the problem and proper treatment.

No: See Surgeon to Rx hernia. See Dentist to begin investigating cause of bad breath. Additional investigation by Physician may be required. Bad breath usually from infection (cavities, gum disease, infected tonsils) and/or trapped food debris on tongue or in particular between teeth. Please seek professional help.

Not typically : I could see how some pain or blockage at ones umbilicus might cause things to back up in the stomach and reflux into ones throats causing bad breath but this would be an exception. Better to get evaluated for sores, infections, dental hygiene or dead tissue in your teeth or throat that are more common. Do you have reflux ? Do you often have acid biting in your throat or chest ?
