Clenching: First, you need to see an ENT specialist to find out if you have an ear infection. If you have pain from clenching, a custom nightguard may help. Also very effective is an nti device. Talk to your dentist, or a dentist who specializes in TMJ pain. Tmj pain is often the result of bruxism (chronic grinding and/or clenching the teeth).

Perhaps: Need to first have ear checked by md to rule out infection. That done a custom-made mouth guard, an occlusal orthotic, may protect the teeth and their surrounding tissues. Otc appliances can actually make problem worse. Talk to your dentist.
