? Step throat: The symptoms may be due to strep throat but if symptoms persist more than 24 hours, it would be best to see a physician and find out. There is no substitute for a face to face evaluation. In the meantime treat the symptoms with fluids, approved over the counter meds based on age and weight. Don't wait 24 hours if symptoms continue to worsen.
