Hemorrhoids: The hemorrhoid you are experiencing is likely related to your recent bout of constipation. It's common to experience changes in bowel habits after surgery. Add in the fact that you are taking a opioid medication on top of that, and it can make matters worse. I would recommend a stool softener and sitz baths. If worsening symptoms, consult with you doctor.

Maybe: Any time you are on opiate pain meds, you run the risk of constipation. Constipation = increased pushing while on the bowl =hemorrhoid! most of the time this can be avoided with use of a stool softener (colace) taken while using pain meds. It's often overlooked by mds who haven't needed it themselves. Try one tab twice a day until you're off the percocet, and up your water intake. Gl and be well.

Please see below: Hemorrhoids are mostly due to constipation and so many other conditions. May be you have had hemorrhoid before but went unnoticed, this time it got worse due to this surgical procedure where you might have received pain medication. Pain medication cause constipation. Constipation cause you to strain during defecation and it makes the already present hemorrhoid worse. Appendectomy should not.
