Is it normal for your periods to be permanently messed up after having a baby?

It's common: Recognize that your body has gone through a multitude of changes after having just been pregnant/having had a baby. As a result, it will take a number of weeks for you to "get back to normal." irregular/no bleeding patterns can develop after childbirth (ex.: breastfeeding). Speak with your OB to review your gyn & medical history & make a determination if you need meds to regulate your cycles.
