A member asked:

Is having a regular exercise schedule in a family with an obese child of much help?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Absolutely: Children are more likely to be active if they can do it with others. This is your chance to show your child that physical activity is fun and feels good. Find activities that the whole family can enjoy. Ask your kids what they want to do. Noncompetitive activities might be the best like biking, water games, and hiking. Kids need 1 hour of activity a day, but it shouldn't be a chore.
