Possibilities: Testicular pain can be from epididymitis, varicocele, hydrocele, testicular trauma or pathology. Transient pain is usually not worrisome. Sudden onset varicocele needs further investigation if no known history of such exists. Urologist could more definitively determine the presence of a varicocele and determine if further work up is necessary or just watching it.
