A member asked:

Does a thoracotomy procedure really reduce the chances of me getting another pneumothorax? and is surgery really worth it?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: Thoracitomy can reduce the risk of recurrent pneumothorax but there are much less invasive ways to treat this with thorascopic procedures. You should see a thoracic surgeon familiar with those techniques.
