Basic precautions: Father and baby should be fine as long as her covers his nose and mouth and washes his hands . Basic precautions go a long way.

Colds: Many pediatricians will ask any family member with an upper respiratory illness to minimize contact or to wear a mask after good hand washing. Many young children may carry RSV so they are a particular risk.
