Depends: If it's amphetamine/dextroamphetamine salts (adderall) or methylphenidate (ritalin), yes it can be crushed and administered in non acidic foods, such as ice cream or whipped cream. Guanfacine and Clonidine may also be crushed and administered in any convenient substance such as applesauce, jelly, peanut butter. Strattera (atomoxetine) may be administered in this fashion as well, but the package insert cautions.

It Depends: The answer absolutely depends upon the preparation and which medication. Some meds are able to be sprinkled. Some cannot. Some can not be crushed. This can not be answered except by your doctor or pharmacist for your specific medication.

Generally, yes.: There are a number of meds that people may consider an add med, so look into the specific med you are taking. But yes, generally short-acting tablets can be broken or crushed. This is 1 question that a pharmacist may be competent to handle. The med may take effect more quickly, and may make the child feel too abrupt an onset. Using a crushed tablet also may slightly shorten the duration of effect.
