Clove Oil: Although clove oil has sedative properties (it is used in many dental medicaments), it will not resolve the problem with your tooth, it may just mask the symptoms. If the toothache is nagging, it means you have it for a while. Call a dentist.. It's not going to get any better on its own.

Infection: You have an infection. You have a long-standing infection that you have ignored until it became painful. Putting oil on the infection will not cure it, only temporarily block the pain sensation as the infection worsens and spreads. If you had an active infection anywhere else in your body would covering the infection with oil cure it? Please call your dentist now.
