ABSOLUTELY: While we routinely depend on a quality musculoskeletal radiologist to read an MRI every orthopedic surgeon worth a grain of salt should read his own MRI to confirm diagnosis and to understand anatomy prior to performing surgery.

Most orthopedic --: -surgeons do. They read or interpret them, and oftentimes find something that may have been missed, usually subtle, but they only read orthopedic MRI's so they get pretty good. Radiologists read all different types of MR's, not just orthopedic. In larger clinics & hospitals have specially trained radiologists who are fellowship trained in ortho, or chest & other specialties. But botem on orth does
