A member asked:

Can a baby falling out of a chair have a damaging effect on the brain?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Very unlikely: Babies who sustain falls from short distances most often do not get injuries that are serious long-term. If the baby cries immediately, does not vomit or lose consciousness, those are good signs and any damage at all is unlikely. If ths is not the case or you notice any changes in the baby's behavior, he/she should be seen right away. Otherwise, call your pediatrician to follow up when falls occur.
