Hemorrhoids bleed: Blood in the stool is never "normal". However, bright anal blood on the outside of stool is usually from hemorrhoids (swollen anal veins). They are not serious and warm baths with epsom salts and a cream like anusol will help. However, if the bleeding is persistent, do see a doctor for an examination. All the best, peter wilk, md.
