I'm already 5 months and a few weeks pregnant and its my first doctor visit, also can i refuse pelvic exam?

Yes: Of course it is always your right not to have a pelvic exam if you don't want to have one. But a pelvic exam allows your health care provider to check your cervix, as well as the size of the uterus, and to check for enlarged ovaries. My advice would be to go ahead and have the exam

Why: You are in charge of your own body. You can refuse any medical care or exam at any time. I believe that doctors are here to make recommendations and help people but it is your choice to follow those recommendations. Without an examination, it makes it more difficult for the doctors to make adequate assessment and recommendations. A full exam is in your best interest.
