Probably not: I cannot speak for your doctor, but unless there are some issues to investigate (like bleeding, for example), then i would not do a pelvic exam on your first pregnancy visit. You may, however get a transvaginal ultrasound. I always do a dating ultrasound on the first visit, and if i cannot see well through the abdomen, then i recommend an ultrasound through the vagina.
