Acromioclavicular jt: Crackling about the collar bone (clavicle) is likely something to do with your acromioclavicular joint (ACJ)- where the collar bone joins to the acromion (bone just over actual shoulder joint). The ACJ can become injured or arthritic and painful making crackling sounds. This is especially so as the arm is brought across the chest. Seek evaluation by an orthopaedic surgeon if pain is persistent.
