Shoulder Pain: Symptoms can be very similar. The mechanism of injury or symptoms at the start can help with the diagnosis. A physical examine can help to decide a rotator cuff injury from a labral tear. The musculoskeletal exam of the shoulder has many different tests because no test is 100% sensitive for the problem. An MRI may be ordered to confirm. An MRI arthrogram may be done to eval a labral tear.
