Don't worry: Uterine fibroids are extremely common. One in 3 women of childbearing age have fibroids and as many as 80% of african-american women of this age group have fibroids. If you have no symptoms (exs. Heavy menstrual flow, pelvic pain, increased urinary frequency), no treatment is necessary. If you have significant symptoms consider seeing a uterine fibroid specialist (gyn, interventional radiologist).
