A member asked:

Docs, what's acute febrile malaria?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Malaria -bad disease: Malaria is a dangerous disease. 'Acute' just means it's happening 'now', over a short-course of time (most cases). Febrile just means 'with a fever' - and indeed most cases of malaria will have that, since it's such a raging infection. Best not to get sick at all - so if traveling, see a doc before hand to get information and protection. Above all, avoid the bite! when traveling in malaria areas.
