Variable: Symptoms of malaria depend on type of malaria, use of any prophylactic medications, and history of previous malaria. General symptoms are fever, headache, severe fatigue. Can also start with abdominal pain and diarrhea. Some types of malaria can rapidly progress, if you have any of these symptoms and were in an area with malaria you should seek medical attention.

Malaria Symptoms: may include: headache, fever, shivering, sweating, fatigue, nausea, vomiting, dry cough, muscle/joint/back pain & enlarged spleen. There is a cyclic pattern of being very cold & shivering followed by feeling very hot and sweating. Additionally one can develop jaundice, blood in urine, anemia, eye problems (nystagmus, problems with eye movements), seizures & coma.
