A member asked:

I'm curious what could happen to me if the results of a electrocardiogram test is bad?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

It depends: There are many ways an electrocardiogram (ekg) can be abnormal and its significance depends on what the exact abnormality is. Some findings are not dangerous and can be normal variants. Other findings for example those suggesting previous damage to the heart muscle, abnormal electrical conduction, an abnormal rhythm, abnormal heart size, need to be evaluated further and may need treatment.
