Fast weight loss : diets are usually not sustainable (such as extremely restrictive carb diets). Why not adopt healthy lifestyle changes? Eat healthfully & be physically active. Aim for 7.5 to 8 hrs of sleep / night. Hydrate w at least 64 oz of water / day. Calories burned must > calories consumed. Do both cardio & weight training.

Metformin--Low Carb: Metformin is very effective for helping lose body fat. As we grow older, we all tend to become Insulin resistant. Insulin's function is to move sugar from the blood into the cells where it is stored as fat. I routinely prescribe metformin to my overweight patients (mostly non-diabetics) with overwhelmingly gratifying success. They feel better, have more energy, and lose their carb cravings.
