Nosocomial pneumonia: Pneumonia associated with a stay in the hospital ( hospital acquired pneumonia is also called nosocomial pneumonia. Lack of secretion clearance is one of the causes, and a number of factors contributes to it, including immobility. There is an increasing recognition that it is crucial to mobilize patients, even very ill patients in the intensive care unit, to lower the risk of this complication.
