See below: Chronic insufficient sleep (as most individuals need between 7.5 to 8 hours of sleep) can cause multiple issues including but not limited to excessive daytime sleepiness and fatigue, cognitive impairment (mental slowing), and worsening of underlying medical conditions. Adequate sleep function is needed to function best cognitively, emotionally, and physically.
