Has hyaluronic acid been proven to cause cancer?

It aids metastasis.: This does not cause cancer, but it can help a tumor metastasize by causing cancer cells to separate from the tumor mass, by degrading the surrounding membrane, and by promoting cancer cell motility. But it also aids in wound repair, makes up the extracellular matrix, contributes to cell proliferation and migration, and has cosmetic applications, like skin care products.

No: Hyaluronic acid is a normal component of human tissue. The production of dietary supplements is however less regulated than pharmaceuticals so impurities can occur. Be careful of where you get your supplements if you choose to use them.
